V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai, Who?

V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai was 14 years old when he developed the technology we now know as email. So it was not the Pentagon as I believe since 1996.  At that time a met a person who told me about his experience with CompuServe since 1986.

Who invented what and when it is always a matter of who tell the story.

Corrupted historians, rewriting history while being on the payroll of dominant institutions, have piled up so much misinformation through out the years, that it is hard to say black from white and red from brown.
It took us 500 years to replace the "Discovery of America" with "The Encounter of two worlds".  I found it silly at first, because I was programmed to see Europeans as the story tellers, the ones who went through so much pain to bring civilization to the New World.  With time I learned that civilization means to impose their religious views on the indigenous people and to steal their land and riches, kill their families and to enslave the survivors.

When Jesus Christ started preaching, some people commented that it was impossible for him to be any good since he was from Galilee, and nothing good would come from that place. In the words of V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai, " I developed the technology we now know as email.  It was done in Newark, NJ, one of the poorest cities in the United States. It was done by a dark-skinned immigrant kid, 14 years old."

The masses get excited with new discoveries, new consumer products make their way to the stores, while people wait in line to be the first throwing money to get the product but with no curiosity at all about how it works beyond the features available to end users.

Al Gore invented the Internet.

Many of us are guilty of  "lol" when presented with that statement.  Of course the statement is inaccurate but in no way a laughing matter.  Senator Gore was an important force, pushing legislation, hearings and funding for programs related to the then called Information SuperHighway.

Ignorance, misinformation, pre-conceived ideas, get us to continue the cycle of more ignorance and misinformation.  Let us doubt of what we have been told.  Let us find and honor the facts.

Rehab Sucks!

What is the rate of success of these Rehab clinics?  Is there anybody counting?  The sooner we realize that nobody has a clue on how to help people, the faster we'll get to work on a solution. Those bullshit licenses just give us a false sense of being in good hands.

Specialists is a term highly misused.  What makes you a specialist in somebody else?  How can you pretend to know my loved one better than I do?  Oh yeah! You want my money.

Poor people get rehab from the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, that basically you will get: Regular rapes by your cellmate; Beatings by the guards; Ignored by your public defendant; Abandonment by your family and friends; Lifetime stigma as a dangerous criminal, no matter what your crime was.

People with resources, I mean money, get to go to these hotel-like  facilities where a team of  "professionals" that will take care of them, according to their working schedule.  They will take care of them on the clock. And that's fine, everybody needs to pay bills, so let the money go around. We love Capitalism.

Talking about Capitalism.  Rehab facilities exists to cover a demand for a service.  Every Christmas, malls around the country hire people to pretend to be Santa Claus.  We all know Santa Claus doesn't exist, but we bring our kids to meet him, and give us satisfaction, our kids laugh and we take pictures to put up on Facebook, so we look all happy, next to an invention, a seasonal character, the same as uncle Bill, that visit us once a year.

Rehab is a "feel-good" place where judges can send the privileged among us.  Where Father and Mother can send me to feel like they are helping, and place where drug companies can continue prescribing their "fix" to addicts without them having to get served by the curbside dealer.  No more little plastic bags, now you get your "medicine" in amber plastic bottles, you can even order it online.

Yes, we couldn't save Robin Williams, and the veterans that end their lives afraid, alone, misunderstood.  Depression, P.T.S.D, Substance Abuse, these are all challenges that we need to learn how to overcome.  We tend to send away the problems that we don't know how to deal with. Government just throw money at things.  So I say we confront those demons head-on, and give love to those in need, and look around, ourselves, for a reason to live.  Let's live.

Scrappy and Tara. A tale of Good and Evil, where the messenger got euthanized.

To be honest, he didn't behave differently from any other street thug caught in camera. We can see on the video how he hunted the little kid, he heard a noise, looked under the SUV and went around to face his prey.  In just seconds he established his superiority over the victim and went for it.  He was not hungry, he was not under stress, he was in his neighborhood, he knew the kid and Tara, but still he wanted to play rough.  Pets living on the same street do like humans, we look at our neighbors and profile them, Scrappy knew that Tara was serious about protecting one of hers.

Few years ago a group of teenagers, three or four, killed a homeless guy with a baseball bat, right by a strip mall and an ATM with the latest technology in video surveillance, that didn't stop them, for about 5 mins, this homeless person sitting on the floor tried with his arm to avoid the blows to his skull, unsuccessfully.

By sunrise time, the teenagers where in custody and getting bailed out by their parents.  I don't know what happened to them afterward.

This is Lila.  She's also shocked by the news.
Scrappy grabbed his little neighbor by the leg with his sharp teeth and dragged him few feet until Tara ended the game by slamming her body against Scrappy, which confused ran away home.  Hours later Animal Control took custody of Scrappy.  His family looked the other way, probably watching the line of lawyers on Stand-by to present a case against the family.  The owner of Tara and mother of the victim pleaded for the family to rehabilitate Scrappy, remember, in California there is Rehab for everything. But Scrappy's family didn't vouch him out, few hours later Scrappy was put down.  Animal Service officials said that Scrappy tried to bite some employees, according to TMZ.

So OK, Scrappy had some bad temper and a like for blood, but since when kids play on the streets?  That brings some questions about parenting.  Not only vicious dog or vicious cats are on the street, in this case the vicious cat was the good guy, I mean the good girl, What about allergies, infections, pollution, UV rays, all these dangers outside.  That tricycle? Let me check the calendar, are we in the fifties?  Scrappy knew that something was out of place on that street and tried to fix it, but of course, it is easier to condemn the big guy.

We tend to go with first appearances. The cat is the hero, the dog is evil, poor family.  That kid shouldn't have been unattended because if the Scrappy showing up is not a dog but a 6 foot high child molester, nor Tara, nor mommy, nor little victim had a chance, and probably the neighbor would have to bring Scrappy, the dog, to search for little neighbor.

Hopefully Scrappy didn't die
in vain, hopefully this family will realize that we are not in the fifties anymore and kids need supervision if they want to play outside in the 21st century.  Scrappy was just a warning. Consider yourselves warned.

Elliot was an idiot!

I remember when people with mental problems would run naked on the street, or were seeing eating their own excrement in the park.  I remember a guy who would walk around in the town where I grow up, his nickname was "gasoline", because he always had a rag with gasoline that he would smell all day long.  Some people say that he was a great mathematician, I just remember him coming into the barber shop while I was getting a haircut, sitting on the chair next to me and making funny faces to see himself in the mirror, he wouldn't bother talking to anybody.

People with mental issues now go to college, drive a BMW, make videos, post them on YouTube, buy guns, and kill others, just because pretty girls don't have sex with them and hates guys because they have a better life than them.  OK, stop with the plural.  It is "Idiot Elliot" who got the movie making genes from his dad but he didn't know what to do with them, just to make a bad movie about himself.

Privilege! White privilege.  This 22 year old white male is so upset with humanity because the good things from life are not coming his way, and in his own words "It is a crime to have a better life than me".

Ladies and gentlemen, there you have it.  One person who doesn't know how to deal with rejection, with no social skills, and with a sense of entitlement much more lethal than any inner city boy of a minority race.  Because if Paul Ryan lends his voice against the social welfare culture, you know, those who feel that food stamps are for the poor, so if you know you are poor you think food stamps are for you.  Likewise, a well trimmed suburbia boy, college student, very proficient in the English language, with a BMW, also thinks that pretty girls should be for him.

He goes to say that he is been in College for more than 2 and a half years and he is still a virgin.  College is suppose to be fun, a place where you experiment things and sex, he had none of that, what a crime.

Farewell videos from twisted minded people are disturbing, but listening to this idiot "last"  video, it reminded me of other people, I don't think they would really kill anybody but the fake anger and the righteousness deciding what sentence and what kind of punishment others deserve......it is laughable if not just because people actually lost their lives by this idiot actions.

We as parents and as society sometimes make promises that we cannot fulfill and not everyone will take it lightly.  We tell kids to go to school to have a better future. Based on what? We tell them respect women, be a gentleman and they will appreciate it. Huh?  Let's make movies about how fun is college. Let's rate colleges for their party environment....Let's give a 22 year old a BMW with leather seats because..........I can afford it.

So, professor and idiot Elliot just gave a lecture on "White male sense of entitlement in the U.S."    for those who still didn't know what are their expectations from American society or as Idiot Elliot called it "Humanity".  Go in peace idiot Elliot, tonight, all around american colleges campuses, "humanity" will be having fun and sex, and NOT thinking about you.

Memorial Day

I don't like guns.  Never crossed my mind to be a police officer or a soldier, I wasn't even good at fighting.  Most of my fights through out my school years were settled because I was big and had friends to back me up, or a teacher, I would grab whoever was on hand to intervene and avoid me actually receiving or giving punches.  I had two actual fights, where I actually punched somebody with the intention of hurting him, I was really successful, those memories stayed with me and my self confidence for long time.  It felt good.  During the Iraq war (2003) I heard somebody to say that he was reconsidering living in this country, with a government so violent and lethal, he wasn't sure if he wanted to be associated with the U.S.A.

I wonder where this guy has been all these years before the Iraq War.  Our military budget is many countries combined budget, we have more bases in foreign territories than any other country.  We are warriors, we are proud of it and if in some case we developed some kind of mixed feelings, we still support our troops.......USA, USA, USA.

I like the idea of living in a super power country, with more military muscle  than any neighbor nation.  I like to see our marines in action, kicking ass, six feet tall guys wearing technology from the Robocop movie, getting there in super silent choppers, everything as surreal that we don't think we'll meet these soldiers in the grocery store few weeks after, or in a four way stop driving that off road truck, or in a little league game where our son will get his son out.

I guess military personal don't appreciate civil life.  Civil life is boring, they feel overqualified to share a line to buy groceries.  Again, this is just my opinion, I have never been told any thing discriminatory.  But I feel is there.

Memorial Day is a tradition, a remembrance of a time when we appreciate the sacrifice of these men and women fighting for a better world.  We are not longer engage in their lives.  Civil and Corporate life have taken over the merits and dignity of the profession, as we did with the teachers as well.

We need to really take care for our veterans, they shouldn't struggle  to find the medical attention needed. We need to act now.  Because it is starting to feel like celebrating our ex-wife birthday.

It is never too early to start caring

So high school was fun.  For those who didn't go to college, high school memories are the best.  Even for some college graduates, high school years were special.  Usually the first love, the first underage drink, even some smoke, the wild parties, the walking everywhere or over occupying a car by three or four times its capacity.  All silly stuff.  The social politics, the anxiety that caused the constant effort to stay in the loop with whatever was going on.  So cool and stressing.

But there is a group of high school students, that in addition to all the fun aforementioned they have also signed up for a very special program. 200 students enrolled in the school’s magnet program that allows teens to graduate with a veterinary assistance certification.  This has been happening for 14 years at the Felix Varela Senior High School in Miami Dade County Florida.

The school shelters more than 80 dogs as part of its veterinary science program.  Every year about 800 applications are received for this magnet program, only 100 are accepted.  Students enrolled in this program have to follow a core curriculum that includes math, english and science, in addition to hands-on experience, as they have to take care of the animals. An adoption program is also run with the help of Friends Forever Rescue with a yearly average of 500 adoptions.

Right now they are looking for homes for these dogs, since the school will go under renovation during the summer and the dogs need to be out before June 6.  Families willing to house these dogs will have them at least for three months, when they will be able to come to their new installations.

It is great to know that the new generation is preparing themselves as caring individuals, because we need to abolish, once and for all, animal cruelty, by bringing up to the table animal rights as a tenet of the society where we all want to live.

Friday as in "getting the hell out day!"

I really look forward to Fridays.  It is one of the two days of the week that I get to leave home, for sure. Other days it is just a rarity.  If you don't have a calendar and just woke up from a coma, but you go out you will be able to notice it is Friday.  People are excited everywhere, it is like everyday by 5 PM but stronger; car radios blasting music, coworkers in the same car laughing, a totally different picture from Tuesday morning.  I feel blessed not being part of that tribe "The Commuters", they are very aggressive on the road, they drive like they are always late and their time is more valuable than anybody else.  They spend more time sitting in their cars than in their living rooms.  I feel bad for them, except that in popular belief, they are the engine of the economy, they make things happen.  That's for sure.  The environment notices them, car dealerships adore them, but do we really need that many people going out every day to do irrelevant things? Please define irrelevant.  No, I don't have time.  You know what I mean by irrelevant.  With all this discussion about minimum wage, sometimes I wonder if many of these "workers" out there are overpaid. And I'm not talking about the girl at the burger joint that can't take your order and smile at the same time or the guy at the tire repair shop that left your tire deflate in your face while telling an infantile story to his coworker.  I'm more like thinking on the bank clerk that "forgot" to tell me that my free account means free for three months.  One-third of bank tellers in the U.S. are under some form of public assistance, I mean welfare.

So, at the end I don't know how to be more selective at giving support to raising wages, in my mind it is conflicting.  I really think that employees must be able to earn a decent income from a main source, if you decide to get a second job or go hiking, that should be your choice.

We'll keep celebrating Fridays as the liberation day, those of us working from home we'll try to fake relieve also when Friday comes, even that last Tuesday was really our Friday, and Saturday will be our Monday.  I know, I know, too complicated for a disciplined society counting work hours, gallons of gas, and days until retirement, when they will start counting and cutting pills on half to make the prescription for depression last at least a month.
